Are you ready to take your dog’s energy and enthusiasm to the next level? Welcome to Flyball Fundamentals, an action-packed class designed to introduce you and your canine companion to the thrilling sport of flyball right here in Minnesota! Whether your dog is a high-energy athlete or just loves a game of fetch, this fast-paced, team-based relay sport is the perfect way to build confidence, boost focus, and strengthen your bond—all while having an absolute blast.
In this course, we’ll cover all the foundational skills your dog needs to succeed in flyball, including:
* Understanding the rules of the game
* Developing unstoppable tennis ball drive
* Mastering commitment to a left or right boomerang on the flat
* Building focus through matwork and jump commitment
* Learning the key to flyball success: the swimmer’s turn on the wallboard
With positive reinforcement, engaging exercises, and plenty of fun, the Atomic Dogs Flyball Club will guide your dog through the exciting steps of becoming a flyball star.
Class Requirements:
- Dogs 1 year of age or older
- Completion of an obedience class
- Dogs must have good recall, meaning coming when called
- Be agreeable being handled, guided or touched by strangers.
- Dogs must have a moderate interest in tennis balls
- Ability to be comfortable around high drive dogs, highly reactive dogs are not good candidates for this course.
Please bring to class:
- A hungry dog
- HIGH value treats, tugs or toys
- A dog crate for your dog to rest in between turns
- A bowl for your dog to have water
This class is designed to be completed multiple times until your dog is ready to move to the next class. Usually takes 2-3 class sessions to move to next level.
