Level 1 Basic Manners - Mendota Heights

The first 6 months are the most critical to a dog’s behavioral development. During this period your puppy learns his place in the household and how to behave around humans and other dogs. Socializing your puppy at this time significantly affects how your puppy will react to situations as an adult. We use a balanced approach to teaching your dog to interact appropriately with you, your family, and others. Owners will learn how to communicate and maintain a good relationship with their dog. We will use food to encourage your dog to learn new skills, so it’s helpful if your dog comes to class hungry. Consider using a portion of their meal as part of the class or bring high value, nutritious treats. We will discuss the use of various tools, however a harness is not allowed. Private lessons are available to enhance skills or address specific issues, see instructor for information.
